Why Use a Dog Harness Instead of a Collar?
If your dog pulls on the leash, a harness is one of the best investments you can make. Unlike collars, which put pressure on the neck and throat, harnesses distribute force across the chest and shoulders — reducing strain on your dog's trachea and giving you better control. They're especially recommended for small breeds, brachycephalic dogs (like pugs and bulldogs), and strong pullers of any size.
What to Look for in a Dog Harness
The best dog harness should be comfortable, adjustable, and secure. Look for padded straps to prevent chafing, multiple adjustment points for a custom fit, and a front clip or back clip depending on your training goals. Front-clip harnesses are ideal for discouraging pulling, while back-clip harnesses are great for well-trained dogs on casual walks.
